| While every industrial establishment is different from everyone in many respects, some actions to improve energy efficiency in an industrial plant could result useful for a large variety of industrial sites. This could be extracted from the experience acquired in a multitude of energy audits, which results clearly show that often identify the same opportunities. In the following a series of operations, valid for a large amount of industrial plants, is available.
· Steam System Upgrades;
· Heat Recovery;
· Compressed Air System Upgrades;
· Motor and Drive-System Improvement/Replacement;
· Lighting Improvement/Replacement;
· Building Retrofits;
· Cogeneration.
Identifying and capturing energy efficiency opportunities is never cost free. Therefore it is essential that energy audits initially identify short-term operational improvements. A sample of cost-effective opportunities found in many audits is given in Table 1. |
